NISSEI believes that compliance is not merely observing laws and regulations, but it also means taking actions in accordance with NISSEI’s management philosophy and the Charter of Behavior, which are the foundations of their corporate management. For this reason, NISSEI believes that compliance is a cornerstone of corporate development and must make continuous efforts to engage in corporate activities that inspire public trust.
NISSEI's Compliance System
NISSEI’s compliance system is enforced in accordance with the Compliance Regulations and the Compliance Manual. A director who is in charge of compliance appoints manager-level employees as compliance officers. NISSEI holds companywide compliance workshops once every three months, with a compliance officer serving as the instructor for each section. Themes for the compliance workshops are determined and presented by the department in charge of compliance affairs. NISSEI strives to raise the awareness of all employees by incorporating themes that are relevant to the needs of society.
Whistleblower system
NISSEI has established a system that allows their employees to immediately report to supervisors and department managers when they observe any misconduct or inappropriate handling of business affairs by directors or employees. NISSEI also has three reporting contacts that can bypass their supervisors: Internal Whistleblower System, Sexual Harassment Consultation Desk, and Power Harassment Consultation Desk. NISSEI informs all employees about the whistleblower system through the compliance training, making the system accessible for the employees in accordance with the Whistleblower Regulations.
Internal Control Committee
In order to ensure healthy and efficient corporate operations, NISSEI holds annual Internal Control Committee meetings, which are composed of directors and the head of each department. In accordance with the policies approved by the committee, each member of the committee continually checks the flow of companywide operations, identifies risks that could lead to corporate fraud or mismanagement, and develops activities (internal control activities) to establish and maintain appropriate rules to reduce risks.
Security Export Control Committee
NISSEI promotes internal awareness and compliance of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Laws from the aspect of maintaining international peace and security: stopping the trafficking of weapons of mass destruction and its related manufacturing equipment and preventing excessive accumulation of conventional weapons.
