Based on the management philosophy, NISSEI has established a Code of Ethics, guidelines, standards for the actions of their officers and employees to build good relationships with its stakeholders in a fair manner.
1. Code of Ethics
Respect for Human Rights
NISSEI takes action with respect for the fundamental human rights of all people, including customers, business partners, employees, and officers.
Compliance with Laws and Regulations
NISSEI recognizes that being in compliance with all laws and regulations, including business laws, is the foundation of conducting ethical business.
Environmental Preservation
NISSEI actively makes effort to preserve the global environment and to establish a sustainable society.
2. Relationship with Customers
Action Guidelines
With the realization of their management philosophy as the foundation, NISSEI strives to build good relationships with its customers by complying with customer relation laws and regulations in all aspects of their operations, including manufacturing of products, ensuring product quality, labeling, advertising, conducting sales, and managing customer information.
Standards of Conduct

①Maintaining Quality
NISSEI shall comply with quality-related laws and regulations including safety standards to provide safe, reliable, high-quality products to its customers. -
②Appropriate Labeling, Advertising, and Gifts
For displays, advertisements, and campaigns, NISSEI shall comply with the Law for Preventing Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, the Fair Competition Code, etc. NISSEI shall not solicit purchases by means of unreasonably expensive gifts. - ③When signing a contract with a customer, NISSEI shall comply with the Consumer Contract Act, the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, and other customer-related laws and regulations to conduct clear and fair transactions.

④ NISSEI shall strictly manage the personal information of its customers in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Law.
NISSEI shall not use the information other than it’s the intended purpose and shall not provide the information to third parties.
3. Relationship with Distributors (Rep Groups and Direct Sales Companies), Industry Associations, and Competitors
Action Guidelines
NISSEI complies with antitrust laws, unfair competition prevention laws, intellectual property laws, etc., with respect to dealers, industry associations, and competitors. NISSEI contributes to the development of the industry through fair trade and fair competition.
Standards of Conduct

①Relationship with Distributers
NISSEI shall comply with the Antimonopoly Law, voluntary industry standards, and other related laws, regulations, and norms. NISSEI shall not engage in unfair transactions. -
②Relationships with Industry Associations and Competitors
NISSEI shall not engage in cartel activities, bid-rigging, or any other activities that may raise suspicions.
NISSEI shall not engage in unfair acts, such as slandering competitors or inappropriate comparative advertising.
In addition, NISSEI takes firm action against such acts committed by the competitors. -
③Management of Intellectual Property Rights and Confidential Information
- Management of Intellectual Property Rights
- NISSEI shall protect their intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights and shall take firm actions against infringement by others. Similarly, NISSEI shall not infringe on the intellectual property rights of competitors or third parties.
- Management of Customer and Industry Information
- NISSEI shall exercise due care in handling confidential information (including personal information) of customers and industry-related persons obtained in the course of business. NISSEI shall not obtain such information by illegal means or use information for other than its intended purposes.
- Protection of NISSEI’s Confidential Information
- NISSEI shall ensure confidentiality of company's sensitive information to its officers and employees and shall not disclose such information to any officers or employees who would not otherwise be required to have such information. If it is necessary to disclose confidential information outside the company, NISSEI shall follow the prescribed internal procedures and sign a nondisclosure agreement with the party to which the information is disclosed and confirm the proper handling of the information.
4. Relationship with Suppliers
Action Guidelines
NISSEI establishes strong mutual trust and long-term relationships with the suppliers of raw materials, materials, and service providers through fair and transparent business transactions.
Standards of Conduct

①Compliance with the Antimonopoly Law, etc.
NISSEI shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Antimonopoly Law and the Subcontract Act, as well as conducting business with the highest ethical standards. Especially, NISSEI shall not engage in any conduct that constitutes abuse of a superior bargaining position. -
②Clarification of Trading Participation Guidelines
In addition to quality, cost, and delivery time, NISSEI shall clarify the guidelines for trade participation and provide fair entry opportunities. -
③Confidentiality
NISSEI shall observe the confidentiality of information and technology provided by suppliers or potential entrants and shall not disclose such information or technology outside the company without the consent of the supplier. Even within the company, NISSEI shall limit the parties to whom they disclose such information. -
④Elimination of Personal Interests
NISSEI shall not request any entertainment or gifts from suppliers. NISSEI shall refrain from receiving gifts from suppliers in accordance with proper business practices, regardless of the amount, if there is a risk of unreasonable influence on the underlying transaction.
NISSEI shall limit business entertainment to what is within the bounds of social common sense and decline any entertainment that exceeds such bounds.
NISSEI has a system in place to submit an entertainment report to the company if their staff receive entertainment of more than a certain amount.
5. Relationship with Communities
Action Guidelines
NISSEI is aware of their obligations as a corporate citizen and will actively fulfill corporate responsibilities to the nation and the communities.

①Social and Cultural Activities
NISSEI shall contribute to the revitalization and development of local communities by supporting artistic and cultural events and encouraging employees to participate in volunteer activities. -
②Cooperation with NPOs and NGOs
As a good corporate citizen, NISSEI shall cooperate with NPOs and NGOs and actively participate in community services. -
③Relationship with International Communities
NISSEI shall not only comply with international rules and local laws, but also respect local cultures and customs, conducting business activities that benefit these international communities. -
④Standing Up Against Organized Crime Groups
NISSEI shall resolutely stand up against antisocial forces that pose a threat to civil society. NISSEI shall not provide any benefits to such organizations. NISSEI shares information about organized crime rings within the Group and has established a system for reporting and responding to such forces. NISSEI shall cooperate with the industry and local communities, working closely with the police and other relevant government agencies to eliminate antisocial forces. -
⑤Prevention of Traffic Violations and Accidents
NISSEI is committed to ensuring that all officers and employees obey traffic rules, preventing them from violating the rules and causing accidents.
6. Relationship with the Environment
Action Guidelines
In order to realize the corporate mission to establish a sustainable society, NISSEI complies with environmental laws and regulations, international standards (e.g. ISO14001), and their own “Basic Environmental Policies.” NISSEI actively works on reducing pollutions, promoting recycling, and saving energy.

NISSEI shall actively work on protecting the environment as well as complying with environmental preservation laws and regulations (pollution prevention, waste recycling, energy conservation, etc.) as well as ISO 14001. -
②Efforts Based on NISSEI’s Environmental Philosophy and Policy
In addition to observing the laws and complying with ISO standards, NISSEI shall set higher goals based on their "Environmental Philosophy and Environmental Policy." - ③All NISSEI employees shall work on protecting the environment through their daily business activities and personal lives.

①Stable Profit Returns to Shareholders
From a shareholder-oriented perspective, NISSEI shall strive to improve business performance and provide a stable profit returns. -
②Fair and Transparent Financial Reporting
NISSEI shall report their business performance fairly and transparently through accounting procedures that comply with accounting principles and the Companies Act, etc. NISSEI shall also ensure the credibility of accounting audits. -
③Information Disclosure
NISSEI shall comply with the standards of the Companies Act, the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, and other relevant laws and regulations to disclose corporate information appropriately. -
④Proactive investor Relation Activities
NISSEI shall proactively provide information other than required by laws and regulations if these are necessary and relevant to gain an appropriate evaluation in the capital market and enable shareholders and investors to make accurate judgments. -
⑤Prohibition of Insider Trading
Directors and employees shall not engage in any conducts that violate or cause suspicion of violating insider trading regulations.
8. Relationships with Politics and Government
Action Guidelines
NISSEI maintains healthy and appropriate relationships with public officials and political organizations, never engaging in any illegal or misleading activities.

①Maintaining Political Neutrality
- Position on Election Campaigns
- In election campaigns, NISSEI shall comply with the Public Offices Election Law and shall not cooperate with any candidate's violations, including providing food and beverages, etc. In order to ensure the freedom of thought and belief of their employees, NISSEI shall not force any individual to express support for a particular candidate in an election.
- Prohibiting Illegal Political Contributions
- With regard to requests for donations or party ticket purchases to political parties or political fund groups, NISSEI shall determine the propriety of such requests on a case-by-case basis and take appropriate action in compliance with the Political Funds Control Law and the Political Party Subsidization Law.

②Prohibiting Bribery and Entertainment Gifts to Public Officials
- ・NISSEI shall not engage in any bribery of public officials or any conduct that could be misinterpreted as bribery. In addition, NISSEI shall respect the National Public Service Ethics Law and its rules of ethics and never provide entertainment or gifts to any public official or deemed public official with whom NISSEI has a conflict of interest.
- ・NISSEI shall comply with the Unfair Competition Prevention Law of Japan and local laws and regulations. NISSEI shall not engage in bribery or any conduct that could be misconstrued as bribery, even with foreign public officials.
Contribution to Local Communities: Outreach Program on the SDGs at Elementary Schools

NISSEI recognizes that enhancing environmental management practices is an important part of management’s duty and has incorporated the SDGs initiatives as a part of their policies. NISSEI regularly hosts outreach programs on the SDG at elementary and junior high schools in Sakaki Town, Nagano Prefecture, where the company is headquartered, as well as inviting these student to the factory.
The contents of the outreach program include introduction of NISSEI, injection molding machines, and plastics. It also covers a diverse topics, such as marine plastics issues and NISSEI’s view of the SDGs.
The participants listen intently to each lecture about the molding machines made by a local companies being used around the globe, the various products made by injection molding machines, and the problem of marine plastics. They also ask many questions after the lectures, deepening their understanding on environmental issues and what environmental measures they can take. NISSEI will continue to speak to the local communities about their commitment to solving environmental issues and to promote the awareness of their environmental philosophy and the SDGs through the outreach program.
