Taicang Factory’s Electric Machines on Exhibit in Shanghai, China

  • NISSEI PLASTIC INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. will be exhibiting at the “Chinaplas 2016” and “PM CHINA 2016,” both of which will be held in Shanghai, China in April.
    Through the demonstrations using the all-electric injection molding machine and hybrid vertical machine, NISSEI will showcase their cutting-edge technological solutions.

    “Chinaplas 2016” will be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center from 4/25 to 4/28, and “PM CHINA 2016” will be held at Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center from 4/27 to 4/29.

    At Chinaplas 2016, two types of injection molding machines will be on display. One is the all-electric injection molding machine “NEX180IIIT-36E” manufactured in Taicang factory, and the other is the hybrid vertical injection molding machine “TNX100R18V” manufactured in Japan.
    To establish a positive brand image in China as well as boost sales in the region, NISSEI will target the steadily growing cosmetic industry and the automotive industry, which is a cornerstone of the Chinese economy.

    I. Electric Type Injection Molding Machine “NEX180IIIT-36E”
    This is a Taicang factory-made “NEX-IIIT Series” with a 1765kN (180ton) clamping force.
    Two-cavity molding of high-designability thick-wall cosmetic containers by 2-stage molding method using PMMA resin will be demonstrated, suggesting the production of high value-added products. It will be demonstrated in a portable clean room to showcase its clean technology to the medical device and optics industries in addition to the cosmetic industry.

    Features:
    1) Higher injection velocity, response, and pressure are achieved by adopting low inertia servomotor and NISSEI original injection unit. Higher injection/plasticization precision and wider moldable range are materialized by optimizing the barrel temperature control.
    2) Yield is improved by the high-precision metering control.
    3) “Linear Pressure Toggle,” which utilizes the advantages of toggle mechanism (high cycle properties, etc.) and possesses the characteristics similar to the straight-hydraulic clamping system, is materialized. This mechanism offers “automatic clamping force adjustment” function and “direct clamping force setting” as standard features. “Automatic clamping force adjustment” automatically adjusts clamping force fluctuations caused by rising mold temperature during automatic run, and “direct clamping force setting” permits changing clamping force setting during automatic run.
    4) It is equipped with a high-performance controller “TACT IV.”
    - Sheet switch type is used for the operation panel.
    - 15-inch vertically long LCD display can arrange two windows vertically, materializing superior visibility and operability.
    - New features, such as the SET-UP screen and display of the adjuster descriptions, materialize user-friendly operation, ensure reliability, and allow saving of prep time from mounting of mold to staring of mass production.
    - It is equipped with a variety of “molding support software,” quality/production management function, and maintenance function.

    II. Hybrid Type Vertical Injection Molding Machine “TNX100R18V”
    This is an X-Pump equipped hybrid type vertical injection molding machine “TNX Series” with a 1026kN (100ton) clamping force. Since NISSEI predicts that more factories will be implementing automations due to ever increasing labor cost, an automated labor-saving system using robots (cut workpiece, insert, takeout, inspect, and takeout the finished product) will be showcased.
    Automated two-cavity insert molding of shrouds (cooling fan covers) using PP resin will be demonstrated at the show to make NISSEI vertical machine’s superior automation capabilities more appealing to the automotive parts industry, with its rotation stop precision, high-cycle, low vibration and other features.

    TNX Series is equipped with an innovative energy-efficient, high-response hybrid pump system, “X-Pump.” The clamping unit uses a turntable type (rotary) direct pressure clamping device, and it possesses performance superior to toggle types, such as its even contact pressure, mold open/close linearity, clamping force accuracy, clamping precision sustainability, and excellent mold protection performance.

    Other features:
    1) Turntable and ejectors are servo-driven, materializing shorter cycle, smooth mechanical motion, and accurate rotation stop precision. This can prevent the misalignment of insert work pieces.
    2) It is equipped with a 3-tie bar wide turntable and can accommodate larger mold due to the intricate shape of the products or mold with a slide core. In addition, wider work area is secured, providing better workability/operability for mold setup and insertion, and it flexibly accommodates automated systems, such as a robot.

    [PM CHINA 2016]
    At PM CHINA 2016, two types of Taicang factory-made electric injection molding machines will be on display: “NEX50IIIT-5E” with a 490kN (50ton) clamping force and “NEX80IIIT-9EN” with a 784kN (80ton) clamping force.

    In order to target the IT industry as well as aiming to expand its sales to automotive and medical industries, powder injection molding machines, which are CIM (Ceramic Injection Molding) and MIM (Metal Injection Molding) machines, will be showcased.
    A global annual average of 11.5% increase in its demand for powder injection molding (CIM and MIM) is expected, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region including China, which consists of 50% of global demands.
    NISSEI has sold more metal injection molding machines in China than any other Japanese brands and is targeting the IT-related industries, such as the mobile phone industry, as well as expanding its sales outlets to other industries, such as automotive and medical industries.

    Six-cavity molding of Zirconia ferrule, which is an optical communication component made from ceramic, will be demonstrated using “NEX50IIIT.” It proves its capability in producing high-quality product and its performance, which are equal to Japan-made electric machines.
    For “NEX80IIIT,” 2-cavity metal injection molding (MIM) of thick-wall intricate-shaped golf product parts using SUS316 will be demonstrated. It targets the mobile phone industry as well as tapping into new territories, such as the automotive and medical industries.
